Sixers and Flyers Both Win

Flyers Beat Isles 4-1 for Third Straight Win

The Flyers started off their New York weekend with a win on Long Island Saturday afternoon beating the Islanders 4-1 at Nassau Coliseum. This is the Flyers third straight win after losing 10 straight. During that 10 game losing streak nothing seemed to go right for the Flyers, no bounces going there way. During this three game winning streak it's been quite the opposite. "We lost 10 in a row and we just couldn't get those breaks," Mike Knuble said after Saturday's game."Now pucks are hitting guys and going in."

If you watched the game you saw that Jeff Carter, like he has the past three games, seems to be a man on a mission. Carts has been everywhere, all around the puck. He seems to have an extra jump, and I don't think it's a coincidence that he's playing this way after the trade deadline has past. I really believe all the "rumors" were getting to him. Now that he hasn't been traded he can relax and play and he's really showing what kind of a player he can be. And also Marty Biron seems to be coming on at just the right time. Biron had 33 saves against the Isles who contrary to the score did not play a bad game.

The Flyers finish their New York trip today at 12:30 at Madison Square Garden against the Blue Shirts. You can catch the game on NBC. The Flyers aren't the only hot team, the Rangers currently in the 7th spot in the Eastern Conference have also won three in a row coming into today's game. And are 6-0-2 in there last eight games. The Flyers currently in the 8th position are only one point behind the Rangers.

Sixers Stun Diesel and Suns in Phoenix

YOUR 10,9,8,76ers beat the Phoenix Suns Saturday night in Phoenix for the first time in six years,119-114. The Suns continue to struggle, they are 2-4 since the addition of Shaquille O'Neal. The Sixers bounced back after getting destroyed by the Golden State Warriors Friday night. Believe it or not people YOUR Sixers are going to make the playoffs whether you like it or not. They beat a really good Suns team last night on their home floor. And yes I know the Suns are struggling but the Sixers had just played the night before and got trounced. They could have acted like the Sixers of old and got trounced by the Suns as well. Especially when the Suns made a run to take the lead at the end of the 3rd quarter. However, these NEW Sixers have confidence and the swagger of a cocky teenager. Phoenix Suns? Shaq? We haven't won there in how long? Who cares, not these Sixers. You don't think they are a different team? You don't think they are no longer intimidated? Well I think Andre Iguodala summed it up after the game when he said, "I think we're a really good team after losing a game, whenever we lose a game, we come back with a vengeance." Brand new Sixers indeed.

Sixers continue their West Coast road trip Monday in LA to face the last place Clippers. That's 10:30 on Comcast Sportsnet. And when the Sixers come back home from the road trip, GO! They have earned it, now let's show up and support them.
