Forsberg Back By The Morning?

Rumor is that Forsberg will make his decision on whether or not to come back to the NHL this morning(2/25). Apparently if he is coming back he's made it clear where he'll be playing and for how much with which ever team it is, deals done. More rumors are circulating that Foppa will announce he's coming back to the Flyers. You have to think the Flyers pushed for this, losing Mike Richards for at least three weeks and now needing a Center who can contribute more then a call up(Richards was leading the team in ice time). Will Forsberg coming back solve anything? Hopefully. Will Peter become a distraction like during the end of his first tenure in orange and black? My guess is no, I know A LOT of fans have been worried about it, I've actually answered a few e-mails regarding that topic in the last couple weeks. I think there are too many veterans on this Flyers club and knowing Forsberg is back could really jump start everyone. I think he could really help Danny Briere out of his funk he's been in so far this season. And also knowing they have even more fire power returning soon as well on top of Forsberg could really get these guys going when they get a couple of wins under their belt. Remember there are still 20 games left, and it's how you play going into the playoffs that usually determines the rate of your success in them.

On the BY THE WAY WIRE:

  • Looks like it's official Philadelphia will be home to a expansion MLS team. The stadium will be built on the Chester waterfront, and I know what your all thinking, Chester? Really? Yes. Seems as if the soccer stadium is only just a small piece of the overhauling of Chester. The water front will include restaurants, hotels, bars, shops all sorts of neat things.

  • And Drew Rosenhaus agent to the stars said recently in an interview what we already know, that the Birds will release Jevon "Huge Disappointment" Kearse.
  • Plans for the Sixers to play one more game in the famed "Spectrum" are in the works and apparently it's just small details that remain. Wonder if the Flyers will play one too? Seems easy enough as there is already a rink set up in there. I would feel that if Ed Snider was so interested in the Sixers playing there one last time, he'd also what the fly guys to do the same.
  • NHL Trade Deadline is at 3pm on Tuesday , lets hope theirs is more eventful then the sixers.
  • Anybody checking out the NFL Combine on NFL Network? It's awesome! I mean you gotta be a real dork to enjoy it, but it's great.

Day err, nite dreaming of Foppa at 4:19 in the Morning

Well I'm up, me and Justin Angeline, it's 4:19 in the morning what else could we be doing but talking about Peter Forsberg rejoining the Flyers?

Justin: We have so many capable goal scorers at this point, adding Forsberg to our line-up would allow him to feed the younger guys, intern allowing them to score more goals.

Me: If Forsberg does come back we don't want the young guys to tone down there play because they believe Peter will pick them up.

Justin: Forsberg comes back they could put him on any line with any group of forwards. He could set all those guys up better then any one else, twice as many goals as they'd score on their own.

Me: A plus is knowing that Peter absolutely WON'T come back if he's not 100 percent positive
he can produce at a "Forsberg-like" level.

Justin: On another note, as far as goaltending is concerned. Nitty kicked ass for a few games, that doesn't mean that Biron isn't the number one still. I'd like to see Biron in net for an extended period as long as his play is good. After that the Flyers need to make a decision. Come playoff time they have to know who their guy is.

Me: Agreed, I believe the Flyers our on thin ice with goaltending situation. They can't mess with Biron's head. I understand the Flyers are riding the hot guy in Nitty, but you signed Biron to be your number one you gotta give him a chance to be it. The longer this goes on the more and more Biron will think he's job is in jeopardy. Once that happens there's NO going back, Nitty is your goaltender for good or worse.

It's back and forth right now, blah blah blah yeah....that's where were at right now.
