As you have all heard by now, Jimmy Rollins had some things to say about Philly fans on "The Best Damn Sports Show Period," which might be "The Worst Damn Sports Show Period," but that's a whole other article. JRol said Philly fans were "front runners," as he sat next to teammate Ryan Howard who looked to be getting more and more uncomfortable every minute. Then calling St. Louis fans more "encouraging," how they always support their team no matter what.
In Philly it's always been said that fans drive players out. When in most cases it's a players mouth that drives him out of town. What Jimmy said no matter how he meant it is just inexcusable. He of all people should know by now how Philly fans are. For him to turn his back on the fans because of some booing? In these situations, in this city, with these fans there is only one solution. Jimmy must go, we'd be better off, and hell he seems like he can't wait to leave.
After how this town embraced him last season during his MVP winning season it's hard to believe Jimmy feels this way. Soon some half hearted apology will be released, stating that the media blew his comments out of context. How he really meant it this way, in a less offensive way of course. How he loves Philly, loves the fans and alway had, that he was just misunderstood. Well before that apology comes out, I already have an answer for you Jimmy. No thanks, apology not accepted, go to St. Louis where you'll be cheered for going 0-5 and swinging at the first pitch 3 out of 5 at bats. Where they won't care if you run out a ground ball or not, and hell you can show up late all the time. Cause it'll be Jimmy being Jimmy in St. Louis. I got one better go to Oakland and you can be a hometown hero playing in front of thousands, wait hundreds, well maybe nobody but you'll be home! With absolutely no pressure, no expectations. It would be perfect for you.
So go away JRol, we don't want you anymore. You've worn out your welcome, you don't belong here. You don't deserve us. I have to thank you before you go however, cause you just made this town love a player like Chase Utley even more. Now we can give MVP chants to someone who REALLY deserves it.
