-Nationals released 2007 Opening Day Starter John Patterson Thursday. Stating that Patterson, who has missed most of the last two seasons with injuries, was in a rehabilitation process and they wanted to use his spot for a younger guy. Patterson will certainly see some interest because beyond popular belief EVERYBODY needs pitching right now.
-St. Louis Cardinals signed Pitcher Adam Wainwright to a 4-year deal worth 15-Million. The deal also includes a two-year option. Not a bad deal for Wainwright who is likely to be the Cards opening day starter.
-Los Angeles Dodgers 3rd Basemen Nomar Garciaparra will miss Opening Day and may be out longer with a broken bone in his hand. Dodgers may go after a 3rd Basemen, but don't get your hopes up Phils fans they aren't going to take good ole' Huckleberry Helms off our hands.
NFL NOTES
-Oakland Raiders have apparently locked up DeAngelo Hall to a 7-Year 70 Million Dollar deal. Giving up draft picks and spending ridiculous money when you have way more pressing needs for your team, way to go Al go get em'! Especially for a overrated corner like Hall, who gets beat so many times deep even he can't deny it.
-Pittsburgh Steelers released WR Cedrick Wilson after he was charged with assault after punching his girlfriend in the face. Way to go Cedrick. "I shouldn't have done it. I hold myself to a higher standard than that," Wilson said. No kidding. Apparently his girlfriend also shot at him twice in January, do I hear wedding bells?
